Tulip
by
Flower Council of Holland
You
could say that the new parrot tulip Irene Parrot is a living work of
art. Its sizzling colours are inherited from the popular tulip variety
Princess Irene and include orange, green, two shades of red and yellow.
Add to this its quirky parrot looks and it becomes clear that this is
a tulip that could never be boring; certainly not when its buds open
slowly ? even majestically ? in the vase. Irene Parrot actually
has a history that stretches far back into the last century. The parent
of Princess Irene is in fact a colour mutant of the red Couleur Cardinal,
whose descendants also include the classical parrot Rococo and the double
Orange Princess. Every one of these is a reliable tulip. Irene Parrot
therefore comes from a very good background and her striking orange
colour definitely adds something new to the parrot segment. Tulipa Irene
Parrot (VBN product code 104520) will be available from the Dutch auctions
until the end of April.
