Black foliage is not something regularly seen in the world of plants. Although taxonomists would refer to the colour as very dark green to purplish black, ?black? does come very close indeed.

Black Magic to be exact. You will see exactly we mean when you stand the mysterious plant in the light and can see how it gleams and glitters. This is a wonderful addition to a minimalist, contemporary interior. Its dark colour makes it the perfect partner for many other varieties. The other striking thing about this Alocasia is its compact size. Some Alocasias are counted among the house plant giants but Black Magic likes to keep things in perspective. It does not grow taller than 30 cm. Nor is there anything but good to report about its character: the plant has a good life span. All it needs is the occasional drink of (soft) water.
